Merritt to Vice President, and promotions of Attorney William J. Daly and Attorney Caitlin L. Slessor to Senior Vice President. Megan Merritt focuses on Litigation. She tries cases to judges and juries in state and federal court, protecting the interests of individuals and businesses. Megan has represented a broad range of clients, including construction companies, private individuals, manufacturing companies, and city governments. She started with Shuttleworth & Ingersoll as an associate in September 2017 and currently serves on the Firm’s Recruiting Committee. She is a graduate of the University of Iowa School of Law. Megan was named a Super Lawyers Rising Star in 2016-2019. She is the President Elect for the Linn County Bar Association and is a District 6 representative for IOWA (Iowa Organization of Women Attorneys). Additionally, Megan serves on the Executive Committee for United Way’s giving circle, Women United, and is on the Board of Directors for Home Forward Iowa.Bill Daly’s practice focuses on commercial and business law, finance, securities, sales and acquisitions of businesses, and business contracts. Bill serves as Chair of the Firm’s Securities and Equity Finance Practice Group, Co-chair of the Firm’s Startups & Innovators Practice Group, and Chairs the Firm’s Recruiting Committee. He began with the firm in 2012 after practicing in Chicago and was elected as a Vice President in 2015. He is a graduate of the University of Iowa School of Law.Bill has been named in The Best Lawyers in America© since 2016, a Great Plains Rising Star and Super Lawyer since 2014, and was an Honoree at Corridor Business Journal’s Forty Under 40 in 2016. Bill also currently serves as Board Chair for New Bohemian Innovation Collaborative (NewBoCo), a member of the Board of the Boys and Girls Clubs of the Corridor, and as Chair of the Startup Roundtable Committee for the Technology Association of Iowa.Caitlin Slessor serves as a Member of the Firm’s Board, chair of the Family Law Department and heads the Client Relations Development committee. Her work focuses on Family Law, representing clients from the beginning to the end of their disputes. This may include high conflict custody cases or complicated business division dissolutions. Caitlin started with Shuttleworth & Ingersoll in June 2014 and was promoted as a Vice Present in January 2016. She is a graduate of the University of Iowa School of Law.Caitlin has been recognized by the Iowa Bar Association for her pro bono work, completing an aspirational 50+ hours of donated time for the last three consecutive years. In 2018, she was also a Corridor Business Journal Forty Under 40 Honoree, and Waypoint Woman of Achievement.
