March 14, 2017
Sam Jones, attorney and vice president at Shuttleworth & Ingersoll
Sam Jones, vice president at Shuttleworth & Ingersoll, recently presented to the Iowa Ready-Mixed Concrete Association regarding antitrust issues. Sam is a commercial litigator who specializes in, among other things, commercial torts, contract disputes, and antitrust law. The purpose of Sam’s speech was to help members of the Ready-Mixed Association better understand what types of agreements between competitors, customers and suppliers could potentially be the subject of antitrust investigation and lawsuits.Sam is one of the few attorneys in Iowa who regularly consults on antitrust issues and who is equipped to provide quick and efficient advice to his clients regarding the implications of their business choices. Antitrust law is unique in that it generally involves “bet the company” questions. Violations of antitrust laws involve attorney fees, treble damages, and in some cases, criminal charges. Sam takes pride in his ability to efficiently advise clients on these critical issues and to represent those clients in court, when that is necessary.
