Oxley on her recent appointment to the Iowa Supreme Court by Governor Kim Reynolds. Dana’s appointment will make her one of Iowa’s seven Supreme Court Justices and the fourth woman ever appointed to the Iowa Supreme Court.Governor Kim Reynolds announced her decision during a news conference on Tuesday, January 28, 2020. Her appointment is a victory for all Iowans. She is going to be greatly missed at our firm but we are excited to celebrate with her and support her in this next great endeavor.”Dana was one of twelve applicants to be considered to fill the open seat on the Iowa Supreme Court bench – a vacancy left by the unexpected passing of Chief Justice Mark Cady. She progressed on as one of the three finalists who were interviewed by the Judicial Nominating Commission – a commission, comprised of eight individuals elected by Iowa lawyers and nine commissioners appointed by the Governor and confirmed by the Senate.Dana is a graduate of the University of Iowa College of Law. She joined Shuttleworth & Ingersoll in 2000 and practiced for a year and a half before clerking for the Honorable David R. Hansen on the United States Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit.
