Kristen Shaffer and Jon Landon Present at IAJ Family Law Seminar

Shuttleworth & Ingersoll Attorneys Kristen Shaffer and Jon Landon each presented a session at the IAJ Family Law Seminar, hosted by the Iowa Association of Justice (IAJ) at the Coralville Marriott on April 11 and 12. This one-and-a-half day conference is a gathering of criminal defense and family law trial lawyers, practicing attorneys, judges, or IAJ law student members. “Both Kristen and Jonathon gave fantastic presentations that were informative, engaging, and incredibly useful for the family law attorneys attending the seminar,” said Andrew Mertens, Deputy Executive Director of the Iowa Association for Justice.Kristen presented “Substance Abuse & Supervised Visitation.” Typical work for Kristen includes dissolution of marriage (divorce), both traditional and collaborative; child custody and visitation disputes; valuation of businesses and identifying hidden assets in dissolution cases; child support; spousal support; premarital agreements; modification and enforcement of decrees and orders; parenting coordination; domestic abuse orders of protection; and appeals. Jon presented “Tax Law Update” and its effect on Family Law. Jon advises individuals, businesses, and tax-exempt organizations in federal and state tax matters; general business transactions; deferred compensation and employee benefits; and estate and succession planning. Jon also helps clients resolve tax disputes with the Internal Revenue Service and other tax authorities.
