Betsy is an associate attorney at Shuttleworth & Ingersoll P.L.C. and a registered patent attorney with the United States Patent and Trademark Office. Betsy draws on her experience as an engineer in office furniture manufacturing to represent a variety of clients ranging independent inventors to companies with patent prosecution, trademark registration, licensing, and trade secrets.
Betsy also leverages her real estate background to assist clients with commercial and residential real estate transactions, leasing, and real estate development.
Betsy worked as a summer associate for Shuttleworth & Ingersoll in the summer of 2017. She earned her law degree from the University of Iowa College of Law in 2018. She also completed her undergraduate degree at the University of Iowa, graduating with a degree in industrial engineering in 2007. Originally from Coralville, Iowa, Betsy now lives in Center Point, Iowa with her husband and four children.
At the University of Iowa College of Law, Betsy was a member of the Equal Justice Foundation and student ambassador to the reunion class of 1972, and student ambassador for the Office of Admissions. During law school, Betsy worked as a legal intern at HNI Corp. a summer law clerk at Nyemaster Goode, and an externship with the University of Iowa Research Foundation.
