Case Name: Mormann v. Iowa Workforce Development Filed:June 15, 2018 by the Iowa Supreme Court (No. 16-1333)Subject matter: The equitable tolling doctrines of the discovery rule and equitable estoppel are available with respect to the 300-day filing limitation in the ICRA.After the Iowa District Court for Polk County dismissed Mr. Mormann’s failure-to-hire claim, Mr. Mormann filed an application for interlocutory review, which the Iowa Supreme Court granted. The Court held that the equitable tolling doctrines of the discovery rule and equitable estoppel are available with respect to the 300-day filing limitation in the ICRA.
